Digital Monitoring System Planned
In response to the incident, the Punjab government has announced plans to introduce a digital monitoring system for donation boxes at shrines across the province.
The proposed system aims to improve transparency, strengthen financial oversight and reduce the risk of misappropriation of public donations.
Officials say the initiative will modernize the management of shrine donations and enhance accountability within the Auqaf Department.
