Pakistan Chronicle is committed to accuracy in all published content. When errors occur, we correct them swiftly, transparently, and without hesitation. Our Corrections Policy reflects our accountability to our readers and our commitment to the principles of responsible journalism.
Our Commitment
No news organisation is infallible. When Pakistan Chronicle publishes content that contains factual errors, we take full responsibility and act immediately to:
- Correct the error in the original article
- Clearly label the correction with the date and nature of the change
- Notify the affected parties where appropriate
- Review our editorial processes to prevent recurrence
Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Typographical errors, spelling mistakes, and minor factual inaccuracies that do not materially affect the substance of an article are corrected promptly and noted at the bottom of the article.
Significant Corrections
Errors that materially affect the accuracy or meaning of an article — including incorrect statistics, misattributed quotes, or inaccurate characterisations — are corrected with a prominent correction note at the top of the article, clearly stating what was changed and why.
Retractions
In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate or based on false information, Pakistan Chronicle will publish a formal retraction. The original article will be replaced with a retraction notice explaining the circumstances.
How to Request a Correction
Readers, subjects of coverage, or any concerned parties may request a correction by contacting us with the following information:
- The URL or headline of the article in question
- A clear description of the alleged error
- Evidence or sources supporting the correction request
Please send correction requests to: corrections@pakistanchronicle.com
Response Timeline
Pakistan Chronicle aims to review and respond to all correction requests within 48 hours. Significant corrections are addressed as a matter of urgency.
No Stealth Editing
Pakistan Chronicle does not engage in stealth editing — the practice of silently altering published articles without disclosure. All corrections are transparently documented.
