Fire Safety Inspections Continue in High-Rise Buildings in Faisalabad

Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar Visits Sitara Tower, MTM Towers, and State Bank Building to Review Emergency Routes and Firefighting Equipment
Faisalabad: Under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration is actively conducting daily fire safety inspections in high-rise buildings. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar visited Sitara Tower, MTM Towers, and the State Bank of Pakistan building on Bilal Road. During the visit, he expressed concern over motorcycles and vehicles parked alongside firefighting equipment in the basements of Sitara Tower and MTM Towers and directed that these areas be declared no-parking zones. The commissioner checked the expiration dates of firefighting equipment and personally tested their functionality by running water through them. He also reviewed the availability of emergency routes and emphasized the need for immediate access paths. He stated that no gap in fire safety arrangements will be tolerated in high-rise buildings and instructed building owners to strictly implement SOPs, warning that business operations will not be allowed in case of any deficiencies. The commissioner also inspected the State Bank of Pakistan building, verifying the availability, operational status, and expiration dates of firefighting equipment, checked emergency routes, and confirmed the functionality of water wires. On-site instructions were given to ensure heightened fire safety preparedness in the bank.
