In light of the orders of Chief Minister Punjab, Mrs. Maryam Nawaz, District Police Officer Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu visited the roads to ensure implementation of the traffic advisory in view of the increasing traffic accidents in heavy fog. District Traffic Officer Sahiwal Tanveer Baig was also present on this occasion.
DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu and DTO Tanveer Baig, along with the traffic police, stopped citizens on various highways to raise awareness about safety measures and installed reflectors on vehicles so that vehicles could be clearly seen from a distance during low visibility. Along with this, yellow paper was also installed on the headlights of vehicles so that the light of the fog lights could be seen effectively in the fog and accidents could be prevented. On this occasion, DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu while talking to the citizens said that it is very important to take precautionary measures during foggy weather, as even the slightest negligence can cause fatal accidents. He directed the citizens to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance and make mandatory use of fog lights and reflectors. DPO Sahiwal further said that Sahiwal Police and Traffic Police are fully active in the field to protect the lives and property of the citizens and the aim of such practical measures is to keep the public safe and prevent traffic accidents. Finally, the citizens were appealed to cooperate with the police and traffic police and ensure full implementation of the issued traffic advisory.
