Commissioner Faisalabad visits library; more open libraries to be set up across the city to promote reading culture
Faisalabad: Under the Beautification Plan of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Municipal Corporation has established a public library at the Station Chowk. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar visited the library and reviewed the books available on its shelves.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that, on the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab, more open libraries will be established at various locations across the city. He stated that passengers traveling by bus and train will be able to utilize their waiting time by reading books in a pleasant and well-maintained environment.
He added that the establishment of public libraries aims to promote a culture of book reading and knowledge-sharing among citizens, especially the youth, and to encourage positive and constructive use of public spaces.
