Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, visited the University of Balochistan today, where he attended as chief guest a specialized training workshop on the practical use of geophysical instruments for officers of the Mines and Minerals Department. Senior journalist Suhail Ahmed Warraich accompanied the Governor during the visit.
In his address, Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail highly appreciated the university’s academic achievements, research progress, and the dedicated efforts of its faculty and students. He emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation between universities and government departments to advance scientific education and the development of mineral resources in the province.
Senior journalist Suhail Warraich conducted an exclusive interview with the Governor, focusing on higher education and the challenges faced by universities in Balochistan. The discussion highlighted key issues, ongoing reforms, and the Governor’s vision regarding educational quality, institutional transparency, and student welfare.
Registrar Muhammad Tariq Jogezai, along with deans, directors, and senior administrative officers, warmly welcomed the Governor. The ceremony was attended by DG Mines and Minerals Abdullah Jan Shahwani, deans, directors, faculty members, and senior officials, who also briefed the Governor on the university’s GIL Laboratory, development projects, and overall performance.
During the workshop, Chairman Department of Geophysics Dr. Moheebullah delivered a detailed presentation on the objectives, technical aspects, and practical benefits of the training program.
At the end of the ceremony, shields were presented to the Governor and the senior journalist, while certificates of appreciation were distributed among the participants.
The Governor also inspected various academic and research sections of the university, including the GIL Laboratory. He lauded the University of Balochistan’s continuous efforts to promote practical training and enhance research activities.
