In order to eliminate violence against women and girls, Women Protection Officer Samira Shaheen met with Principal Government Graduate College for Women Sahiwal Samira Naseem. On this occasion, she shed detailed light on the services of Women Protection Center Sahiwal, gender-based violence, services provided in Women Protection Center, Punjab Protection of Women Anti-Violence Act 2016 (Amended 2021) and the effective role of 1737 Helpline. On this occasion, an awareness session and walk were also held to eliminate violence against women and girls, in which a large number of teachers and students participated. The participants of the walk also distributed pamphlets among the citizens. The purpose of distributing the pamphlet was to create awareness about women’s rights, available legal protections and support mechanisms provided by the center. The team from Women Protection Center Sahiwal engaged with community members, made them aware of the importance of reporting violence, and encouraged them to share information within their surroundings to promote a safe environment for women. Principal Sameera Naseem also presented a commemorative shield to Women Protection Officer Sameera Shaheen.
