In the streets of Faisalabad, a hardworking sanitation worker, Nusrat Bibi, has set an extraordinary example of honesty and integrity, proving that righteousness is not tied to wealth or status but to the purity of one’s heart. While performing her routine duty in Mohalla Neghban Pura, she found a packet in the trash, which, when opened, revealed bundles of currency notes amounting to 900,000 rupees. It was a moment of great temptation, a moment where many would fall, but Nusrat Bibi’s faith and principles stood firm. Without hesitation, she informed her supervisor and handed over the packet to the office of the waste-management company, where the money was counted and safely returned to its rightful owner. It was later discovered that the amount had accidentally been thrown out during household cleaning and ended up in the garbage outside. For the owner, it was a moment of shock and gratitude; for Nusrat Bibi, it became a moment of dignity and admiration. These are the individuals who brighten the soul of society. The district administration and the sanitary company appreciated her noble act. Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir proudly declared her the pride of the district and said that such honest individuals create trust and positive traditions in society. A ceremony was held at the DC Office where the money’s owner, company officials, and district administration collectively awarded Nusrat Bibi three hundred thousand rupees and presented her with a certificate of appreciation so her honesty could be publicly honoured and set as an example for others. The Deputy Commissioner not only rewarded her but also announced a job for her son, an admirable step aimed at supporting her hardworking family. He also directed that her salary be increased so that her financial burden could be eased and she may feel that true integrity is valued in our society.

Nusrat Bibi’s conduct proves that honesty is not dependent on poverty, hardship, or social status. Finding such a large amount — nine hundred thousand rupees — could test anyone’s character, yet she demonstrated that trust in honest, lawful earnings protects a person from every wrong path. Incidents like this are rays of hope, showing that Pakistan is still full of virtuous and upright people. This is not merely the honesty of one worker but a message for the entire system that if institutions respect and uplift their truthful employees, society moves in a better direction. Nusrat Bibi reminds us that the real wealth of any nation is its principled, God-fearing, duty-conscious individuals. This dignified woman, who spends her days cleaning the streets of Faisalabad, stands today as a symbol of pride for the entire city, and her honesty lights the way for future generations. If more characters like her emerge in our institutions, perhaps the Pakistan we dream of can truly be built.
