Sohail Shaukat Butt highlighted key initiatives including the Himmat Card, provision of wheelchairs and assistive devices, and the Chief Minister’s Special Games, terming them transformative steps that have already benefited thousands of families across the province.
He noted that this year’s global theme — “Inclusive Development for Social Progress” — aligns closely with the provincial government’s ongoing efforts. He added that the Social Welfare Department is set to introduce several new projects designed to expand opportunities for persons with disabilities in employment, education, sports, and broader social participation.
The minister stressed that the Punjab government is committed to building a more inclusive society by empowering persons with disabilities to become self-reliant and productive citizens. Policy reforms, he said, are underway to enhance service delivery and ensure that special persons receive the facilities and support they deserve.
