A powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake has struck western Afghanistan, causing widespread destruction. Dozens of people have been reported dead and hundreds injured as rescue teams search for survivors in collapsed buildings. Authorities fear the death toll may rise as aftershocks continue to shake the affected areas, including Herat province.
