The Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston organized a solemn event to mark Kashmir Black Day, attended by a large number of community notables, dignitaries, and representatives of Pakistani and Kashmiri organizations.
According to a statement released on Monday, the event served as a reminder of the grave injustice and continued suffering endured by the Kashmiri people under illegal Indian occupation.
Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out during the event. These messages reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast moral, political, and diplomatic support to the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their just struggle for the right to self-determination, in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The leaders also strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations being committed by Indian occupation forces.
In his remarks, Consul General Aftab Choudhery highlighted the historical significance of the day and the importance of its commemoration in raising international awareness and reaffirming the sanctity of international law. He emphasized that the early resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was imperative for peace, stability, and prosperity in South Asia and beyond.
Speakers paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to their cause. The event concluded with a unanimous call to the international community to hold India accountable for its actions in IIOJK and to ensure that the Kashmiri people are granted their long-denied right to freedom and justice.
