First Cargo Route from China’s Urumqi to Islamabad Officially Launched

A Boeing 757 cargo aircraft carrying 2.57 tons of cross-border e-commerce cargo took off from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport in Xinjiang, China, and landed in Islamabad, Pakistan, after a 2-hour and 40-minute flight.

According to Chinese media, this marks the official launch of the first all-cargo route between Urumqi and Islamabad, further streamlining cross-border logistics between China and Pakistan. The route will operate two round-trip flights per week, with a maximum one-way cargo capacity of 26 tons, primarily transporting cross-border e-commerce goods and high-value-added products.

The launch of this cargo route is a significant step in the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), expected to boost economic and trade cooperation between the two nations while also enhancing regional industrial and supply chain stability.
