Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Meets UN Secretary-General, Reaffirms Commitment to Multilateralism

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at UN Headquarters. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to multilateralism and the UN’s central role in addressing global challenges. Key topics included the Middle East crisis, Iran, Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Indus Waters Treaty violations, and terrorism. Dar expressed firm support for Palestinian statehood and a Gaza ceasefire. Both discussed the upcoming UN-OIC meeting and the “UN80” initiative. The Secretary-General appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Security Council and efforts to promote dialogue, peace, and sustainable development.
