Xi Jinping Meets Vladimir Putin in Beijing Ahead of SCO Summit

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Great Hall of the People on September 2. The leaders discussed the strength of China-Russia relations, strategic cooperation, and multilateral collaboration through platforms like the UN, SCO, BRICS, and G20.

The meeting coincided with the 80th anniversary of China’s resistance against Japanese aggression and global anti-fascist victory, highlighting both nations’ commitment to safeguarding World War II achievements and promoting international stability.

President Putin praised the strategic depth of China-Russia ties and called Xi’s global governance initiative timely and essential for addressing global governance gaps.
