Faisalabad: A significant monthly review meeting under the women’s National Identity Card (CNIC) and voter registration (INVR) campaign was held at the office of the District Election Commissioner Faisalabad. The meeting was chaired by Sajid Hussain Rathore, District Election Commissioner Faisalabad. Officers from local government, NADRA, the Education Department, universities, and various government departments, along with representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), also participated. The purpose of the meeting was to increase women’s CNIC registration, ensure effective deployment of NADRA Mobile Registration Vans (MRV), and strengthen the overall voter registration process. At the beginning of the meeting, the District Election Commissioner welcomed the participants, and Irshad Prakash and Adnan Yousuf were also present. The objectives of improving women’s CNIC registration, enhancing coordination with NADRA, and promoting inclusive voter registration were outlined. The challenges faced in women’s CNIC registration were discussed in detail, including mobility issues, lack of required documents, and limited awareness. Feedback received from field staff, NGOs, and community mobilizers was also reviewed. The performance and deployment of NADRA Mobile Registration Vans were assessed, and plans for the current and upcoming months were discussed. Priority locations for women’s registration, daily performance, and technical and administrative issues were also considered. Emphasis was placed on improving coordination with NADRA, including prior approval of MRV schedules, exchange of target women lists, coordination at district and tehsil levels, and support from district administration. The role of NGOs, Social Welfare Department, and local government was appreciated, with special focus on community mobilization, access to women, and conducting awareness sessions. Under the awareness and communication strategy, outreach through mosques, schools, health centers, community halls, promotional materials (posters, banners, flyers), social media, local cable networks, and house-to-house campaigns was emphasized. Data sharing and monitoring systems were also reviewed, including CNIC issuance and voter registration data from NADRA, monthly targets versus performance, and field visits. The action plan for the next month was finalized, including target areas, MRV schedules, awareness activities, division of responsibilities, and clear timelines. Finally, Sajid Hussain Rathore reaffirmed that close coordination with all relevant departments will continue to promote women’s CNIC registration and voter participation, enabling women to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
