White House Signals Openness to Palestinian State if Hamas Relinquishes Power

When asked whether the U.S. would recognize a Palestinian state if Hamas cedes control to a transitional technocratic government, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she would not “get ahead of the technical talks.” She added that the Trump administration expects and hopes this will be “one of the greatest peace deals this world has ever seen.”
