Venezuela Denies U.S. Claims That Deported Migrants Are Tren de Aragua Members
Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello stated on Friday that none of the hundreds of Venezuelans deported by the U.S. to a prison in El Salvador are members of the Tren de Aragua criminal gang. His remarks challenge Washington’s justification for the mass expulsions, which were based on alleged gang affiliations. The deportations have added to tensions between the two countries amid ongoing immigration and security concerns.
