
Special Reception in Honor of Pakistani-Americans from Houston Held at ASL Club, Gulberg Greens, Islamabad
Islamabad: A special buffet luncheon was hosted at the ASL Club in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad, by prominent Houston-based businessman and social personality, Shahid Hashmi, in honor of visiting Pakistani-Americans from Houston.
The event brought together several distinguished guests, including Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, President of the Karachi Sister Cities Association; Nusrat Leghari, Women Human Rights President from Houston; Rashid Godil, former Member of the National Assembly (MNA); Tariq Hameed, and other prominent personalities representing various professional sectors.
Shahid Hashmi warmly welcomed the guests and especially praised Muhammad Saeed Sheikh for his tireless efforts in serving the Pakistani community in Houston. He acknowledged Sheikh’s pivotal role in promoting unity, building lasting relationships, and encouraging cooperation among diaspora members.
In his remarks, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh expressed heartfelt thanks to Shahid Hashmi, stating:
“Shahid Hashmi is a man of humility, compassion, and grace—an inspiration to all of us.”
He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in strengthening community ties and fostering a spirit of togetherness.
Nusrat Leghari spoke on the significance of women’s rights and empowerment, highlighting the ongoing efforts within the Houston community to support and uplift women’s voices.
Rashid Godil also addressed the gathering, appreciating the initiative and stressing the need for global collaboration and continuous engagement among overseas Pakistanis.
