Pope Francis in Stable Condition After Three Weeks in Hospital
Pope Francis, 88, has been hospitalized at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital since February 14 due to double pneumonia. As of March 6, the Vatican reports that his condition is stable, and he has begun physical therapy to aid mobility. He continues to receive respiratory treatments, including non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night and high-flow oxygen during the day. Despite earlier respiratory crises, his prognosis remains guarded. The Pope has remained engaged in his duties, participating in Ash Wednesday services from the hospital and approving bishop appointments.
