
Overseas Pakistanis Convention Held in Islamabad to Honor the Global Pakistani Community
An impressive Overseas Pakistanis Convention was held in Islamabad with the aim of not just discussion, but also to reassure the overseas Pakistani community that they are deeply respected and cherished in the hearts of the nation. The event extended invitations to Pakistanis residing across the globe, recognizing them as honored guests of the nation.
The Government of Pakistan officially granted guest status to all overseas Pakistanis participating in the convention. Emphasizing their vital role, the speakers noted that wherever overseas Pakistanis reside, they serve as ambassadors of Pakistan in their host countries.
The convention began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by renowned Qari Sadaqat Ali. The event was hosted by Samina Khan, a prominent UK-based overseas Pakistani journalist and active figure in British politics.
Distinguished participants in the convention included Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, former Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Federal Ministers Sardar Yousaf, Amir Muqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and several other notable personalities such as Sajid Tarar, Faisal Vawda, Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Syed Qamar Raza, journalist and international relations expert Dr. Hamid Al-Mashriqi, Shahid Hashmi, Chaudhry Salik, and OPF Managing Director Afzal Bhatti.
Delegates from over 75 countries participated in the event, making it a vibrant celebration of unity and patriotism. The ceremony was broadcast live in the embassies of these countries, reflecting its global significance.
