New York Passes Law to Include Animal Cruelty in Red Flag Law

In honor of ASPCA’s Animal Cruelty Prevention Month, the New York State Assembly has passed legislation to include felony animal cruelty in the state’s red flag law. This allows courts to consider severe animal cruelty convictions when issuing orders to restrict firearm access, enhancing protections for animals and public safety.
