NEW ERA IN SYRIA: KURDISH-LED SDF STRIKES DEAL WITH DAMASCUS
The Kurdish-led, U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has reached an agreement with the Syrian government to integrate into the country’s new state institutions, according to the Syrian presidency. The deal marks a major shift in the region’s dynamics, as the SDF controls much of Syria’s oil-rich northeast. While the move could signal greater unity, it also raises questions about the future of U.S. influence and Kurdish autonomy in Syria.
