
India Suspends Indus Water Treaty and Closes Attari Check Post
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has announced the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan and the closure of the Attari check post. Following a cabinet meeting, India also decided to cancel visas for all Pakistanis under the SAARC visa exemption scheme and ordered Pakistanis currently in India to leave within 48 hours.
The spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that Pakistani nationals holding Indian visas will have them revoked, and they must leave within 48 hours. Furthermore, Indian citizens in Pakistan will be allowed to return through the Attari check post by May 1.
