ANP Leader Daulat Khan Pir Alizai Killed in Targeted Firing at Mizai Adda, Four Injured

Awami National Party (ANP) provincial leader and Pir Alizai Media Secretary Daulat Khan Pir Alizai was killed, while four others sustained injuries after unidentified armed men opened fire near his private medical clinic in Jungle Pir Alizai Bazaar, Mizai Adda, late Monday night.

According to local sources, the attackers opened indiscriminate fire in front of Daulat Khan Pir Alizai’s clinic before fleeing the scene. The injured and the deceased were immediately shifted to the Mizai Adda Trauma Center for medical treatment and necessary procedures.

Police reached the scene shortly after the incident, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to trace and arrest the attackers. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

The killing of Daulat Khan Pir Alizai has sparked grief and concern among political circles and local residents. His funeral prayers are scheduled to be offered today, Tuesday, in his native area of Pir Alizai, where he will be laid to rest.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai strongly condemned the incident in a statement, describing the targeted killing of Daulat Khan Pir Alizai as a tragic and deeply disturbing act.

He said the growing incidents of insecurity, targeted killings, and violence across the Pashtun-Baloch region have raised serious questions about the performance of the government and relevant institutions responsible for maintaining law and order.

“How long will political workers, ordinary citizens, and innocent people continue to suffer from insecurity while the perpetrators roam freely?” he questioned.

Achakzai stated that the murder of Daulat Khan Pir Alizai was not merely the killing of an individual but an attack on democratic politics and peaceful political struggle. He demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and urged authorities to ensure swift justice for the victim’s family.

He warned that continued failure to protect citizens and political workers would place responsibility on the government and concerned institutions.

The incident has renewed concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the region, where political activists and community figures have increasingly become targets of violence in recent months.
