Over 148,000 Families Receive Rs 10,000 Each Through Ramzan Nigehban Cards; Target Set for 304,000+ Households
Faisalabad: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the transparent and swift distribution of “Ramzan Nigehban Cards” among deserving families is underway across Faisalabad Division, and so far 148,030 families have received Rs 10,000 each through the card system, while the overall target is to distribute the cards to 304,834 families across the division. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, while briefing officials, stated that in District Faisalabad 66,128 out of 143,993 registered beneficiaries have received the cards, in District Jhang 38,264 out of 77,084 families have been facilitated, in District Toba Tek Singh 21,790 out of 46,107 families have received assistance, and in District Chiniot 21,848 out of 37,650 deserving families have been provided Ramzan Nigehban Cards at their doorsteps.
Essential Commodities Available at 15 Percent Discount in Ramzan Bazaars
The Commissioner further stated that in Ramzan bazaars, essential commodities including flour, sugar, gram flour, pulses, fruits, vegetables and chicken are available in ample quantity at prices 15 percent lower than the open market to provide relief to citizens. He added that to ensure availability of essential items at officially notified rates in the open market as well, the entire administrative machinery, price control magistrates and enforcement teams are actively conducting inspections and taking strict legal action against profiteers and hoarders, emphasizing that no one will be allowed to exploit consumers or overcharge them.
