
China, Russia, and Iran Hold Meeting on Iran Nuclear Issue in Beijing
On March 14, 2025, China, Russia, and Iran successfully held a meeting in Beijing to discuss the Iran nuclear issue. The meeting was chaired by China’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also in attendance.
The discussions focused on nuclear affairs and lifting sanctions, with all three nations emphasizing the need to eliminate all illegal unilateral sanctions. They reaffirmed that political and diplomatic dialogue based on mutual respect remains the only effective and viable solution.
The three countries stressed that all relevant parties should address the root causes of the current situation, avoid pressure through sanctions, threats, and displays of power, and work towards constructive diplomatic engagement. They also highlighted the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and its timeline, urging all parties to avoid escalating tensions and create an environment conducive to diplomatic efforts.
Additionally, China, Russia, and Iran reaffirmed the significance of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as the foundation of the global nuclear non-proliferation system.
