He claims he and his family are Pakistani citizens, and the action taken is based on a misunderstanding.
NADRA alleges he is an Afghan national due to discrepancies in his family records.
Khan’s lawyer argues the demand for pre-1978 proof of residence is baseless.
The court has sought a response from the federal government and other authorities.
The next hearing is scheduled for April 22.
