
Canadian PM Mark Carney Meets Macron on First Foreign Trip, Discusses Ukraine War
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on his first foreign visit since taking office. The leaders discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine, with both reaffirming their commitment to supporting Kyiv against Russian aggression. Macron emphasized that Ukraine has the right to invite allied forces without needing Russia’s approval.
The meeting also focused on economic and geopolitical tensions, particularly in response to U.S. policies under President Donald Trump. Carney and Macron presented a united front against trade challenges and security threats.
Following his Paris visit, Carney is set to travel to London for talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and a meeting with King Charles III.
