
California Lawmakers Modify Bill Targeting Buyers of Teen Sex
A California bill aiming to impose felony charges on individuals who purchase sex from 16- and 17-year-olds has been altered following opposition from Democratic lawmakers. Assembly Bill 379, introduced by Assemblywoman Maggy Krell, initially sought to extend felony penalties to buyers of minors under 18. However, to advance the bill, Krell agreed to remove the provision, leaving the solicitation of 16- and 17-year-olds as a misdemeanor offense
