We Must Play a Vigorous Role as a Nation Against Drugs – DG Muhammad Zaman
Quetta :Director General Excise & Anti-Narcotics Muhammad Zaman, in a statement on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, said that relevant institutions in Pakistan, like the rest of the world, are taking strong measures to eradicate the menace of drugs.
He stated that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and Secretary Excise Syed Zafar Ali Bukhari, the Excise Department today destroyed a huge quantity of drugs and foreign liquor seized during various operations last year.
According to the DG Excise, the destroyed items included 18,000 bottles of foreign liquor, 200 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine), and 600 kilograms of hashish, with a total value of approximately Rs. 28 billion in the international market.
Muhammad Zaman reiterated the commitment that the performance of the Excise & Anti-Narcotics Department Balochistan will be further strengthened and made more effective to protect the province’s young generation from the poison of drugs.
