SEC Accuses Georgia Man of Running $140M Ponzi Scheme

The U.S. SEC has accused Edwin Brant Frost IV and his firm, First Liberty Building & Loan, of operating a $140 million Ponzi scheme involving about 300 investors. A federal judge froze Frost’s assets and appointed a receiver. Frost, a Georgia Republican, has apologized and pledged to cooperate with authorities.
