UN Special Rapporteurs Brief Media on Human Rights Situation in Occupied Palestinian Territories

The United Nations Special Rapporteurs on various human rights issues held a joint media briefing on the ongoing situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The briefing included Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967; Ben Saul, the UN Special Rapporteur on counterterrorism and human rights; Michael Fakhri, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food; and Meg Satterthwaite, the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers.

The experts highlighted the growing humanitarian crisis, violations of international law, and the severe impact on basic rights, including food security and judicial independence. Their statements emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to protect the rights of Palestinians under occupation and address systemic human rights violations in the region.
