(Report: Syed Sardar Mohammad Khondai)
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has praised the security forces for their successful operations against militants in the province, saying the elimination of 17 terrorists demonstrates their courage, professional expertise and effective strategy.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said the security forces had foiled the plans of anti-state elements through their operations. He added that militant groups were attempting to create unrest in Balochistan and undermine public peace, but state institutions remained determined to counter these threats.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the security forces were taking firm action against elements involved in terrorism and efforts to destabilize the province.
He described the officers and personnel of the security forces as a source of national pride. He said their sacrifices would remain an important part of the country’s history.
The Chief Minister also paid tribute to Sepoy Hikmatullah, who embraced martyrdom while confronting the militants.
He said the soldier had set an example of courage, duty and patriotism by sacrificing his life for the country. The nation, he added, would always remember the sacrifice of its brave son.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said operations against militants would continue until the threats to peace and stability in Balochistan were eliminated. He stressed that the government would not allow efforts to undermine security in the province to succeed.
He further said the fight against terrorism was not the responsibility of a single institution but a collective national effort. He added that the entire nation stood alongside the security forces and that the sacrifices of martyrs would never be forgotten.
The allegations of Indian sponsorship and the characterization of the militants as “Fitna al-Hindustan” reflect the Chief Minister’s statement.
