Chaman (Syed Sardar Mohammad Khondai): Haji Aslam Khan Achakzai, a national elder and head of the Haji Lalu Khan Foundation, has urged the authorities to address prolonged electricity outages, rising unemployment and the deteriorating law and order situation in Chaman.
Speaking at an emergency press conference, Haji Aslam Khan Achakzai was accompanied by foundation office-bearers, including Dr Abdul Baqi Achakzai. The speakers highlighted public concerns over the difficulties facing residents.
Haji Aslam Khan Achakzai criticized the performance of WAPDA, claiming that electricity remains suspended for weeks in several areas of Chaman. He said prolonged outages have disrupted daily life and increased difficulties for residents.
The speakers also expressed concern over unemployment and insecurity. They said economic pressures have made life increasingly difficult for middle- and lower-income families and called for effective measures to address public grievances.
The foundation also raised concerns about delays in services at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Chaman.
Haji Aslam Khan Achakzai said authorities should speed up the restoration of blocked computerised national identity cards belonging to local residents. He described the delays as a serious concern for affected families and urged NADRA officials to resolve pending cases promptly.
The foundation’s head said its primary objective was to raise public concerns and advocate for the resolution of legitimate civic issues.
He and the other speakers called on the relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the electricity crisis, law and order concerns, unemployment and NADRA service delays.
They warned that if the issues remain unresolved, the foundation will announce its future course of action.
