Pakistan Independence Day Celebration Held in Springfield, Virginia

Representatives of Different Political Groups Come Together on One Platform, Promoting National Unity and Expressing Best Wishes for Pakistan’s Progress and Prosperity

SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA: A Pakistan Independence Day celebration was organized by the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) at a local restaurant in Springfield, Virginia, drawing a significant number of members of the Pakistani-American community.

Arshad Abbasi served as the stage secretary, while Mian Qaiser opened the program with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Speakers included Zarif Khan, Naveed Ahmed, Asim Siddiqui, Asad Chaudhry, Sajjad Baloch, Faiz-ur-Rehman, Izhar Khan, and Shahzad Chaudhry, among others. They shared their views on Pakistan’s current situation, national unity, and the important role of overseas Pakistanis.

The event was presided over by Shahzad Chaudhry, while Muahid Shah attended as the chief guest. Asad Chaudhry highlighted the current situation in Pakistan as well as issues concerning Pakistanis living in the United States. Shahzad Chaudhry spoke in detail about Pakistan’s history and various aspects of the country’s political and national journey. The chief guest also reflected on Pakistan’s difficult periods and recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the Pakistan Movement.

One of the most significant aspects of the event was the participation of individuals representing different political parties and viewpoints. Participants welcomed the fact that, despite political differences, overseas Pakistanis are once again coming together on national occasions, particularly Pakistan Independence Day. The gathering was described as a positive step toward reducing political divisions within the Pakistani-American community.

The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony marking Pakistan’s Independence Day and America’s anniversary. Participants expressed their best wishes and prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress, prosperity, and stability.
