MD Wasa Kamran Kahlon Supervises Rainwater Clearance

TOBA TEK SINGH: Following heavy rainfall in Toba Tek Singh, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) launched an emergency operation to drain rainwater accumulated at Shahbaz Chowk, one of the city’s busiest intersections. Managing Director WASA Toba Tek Singh Chaudhry Kamran Kahlon personally visited the site and supervised the drainage operation.
During the visit, the Managing Director directed the concerned officers and field staff to ensure uninterrupted drainage of rainwater so that commuters and residents would not face any inconvenience. WASA teams remained actively engaged in the operation, using modern machinery, dewatering pumps and other equipment to remove the accumulated water on an emergency basis.Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Kamran Kahlon said that all WASA field teams were on high alert during the monsoon season and were continuously monitoring low-lying areas across the city. He stated that immediate action would be taken wherever rainwater accumulated to ensure timely drainage, maintain the smooth flow of traffic and minimize inconvenience to the public.He further said that WASA’s emergency response teams were working round the clock and that providing relief and convenience to citizens remained the agency’s top priority. Citizens also appreciated WASA’s prompt response and expressed hope that such timely measures would continue during the ongoing monsoon season.
