International Baisakhi Festival 2026 to host over 26,000 Sikh pilgrims in Punjab
LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held at the Punjab Home Department to review arrangements for the International Baisakhi Festival , which is expected to attract thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across the globe. The meeting on International Baisakhi Festival 2026 was co-chaired by Khawaja Salman Rafique and Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, with Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi and other senior officials in attendance. Officials informed the meeting that the International Baisakhi Festival 2026 will be held from April 10 to 19, with over 26,000 Sikh pilgrims, including visitors from India and other countries, expected to visit Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Hasan Abdal, Eminabad, Faruqabad, and Narowal. A comprehensive review of arrangements for the International Baisakhi Festival covered security, accommodation, transport, and other essential services to ensure a smooth experience for pilgrims.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Punjab government has finalized foolproof arrangements for the International Baisakhi Festival, ensuring safety and hospitality for international guests. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora stated that the International Baisakhi Festival 2026 is a global event, stressing the importance of teamwork to present a positive image of Pakistan and to facilitate pilgrims according to their religious needs.
Authorities were directed to provide senior citizen counters, additional washrooms, heavy-duty generators, and medical facilities during the International Baisakhi Festival 2026, along with expanded langar and ambulance services. To further facilitate pilgrims during the International Baisakhi Festival , luxury buses, air-conditioned marquees, and reliable currency exchange services will be arranged.
LESCO was instructed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the International Baisakhi Festival 2026, while focal persons will be appointed to improve coordination among departments.
Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi emphasized that maintaining Pakistan’s global image requires ensuring foolproof arrangements for accommodation, food, and security during the International Baisakhi Festival 2026.
