Houston, Texas:
Republican congressional candidate Alex Kalai is making an urgent and passionate appeal to voters as early voting continues in the race for Texas’s 7th Congressional District. He stressed that a strong final push could deliver an outright victory and eliminate the need for a runoff election.
Speaking to Pakistan Chronicle, Kalai said he is currently ahead but emphasized that surpassing the critical 50 percent threshold is essential to avoid a second round of voting.
“Inshallah, we will win with no runoff,” Kalai said. “But I really need a final push to win outright. That requires over 50 percent of the vote now.”
He urged supporters to mobilize immediately by reminding friends, neighbors, coworkers, and classmates to participate in early voting, which runs from February 17 through February 27, as well as on Election Day, March 3, 2026.
A Houston native, Kalai holds degrees from Rice University and Columbia University. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Amerapex, a global engineering and industrial services company.
His campaign platform centers on economic growth, job creation, expanding school choice so education funding follows students rather than bureaucracy, strengthening border security, protecting girls’ sports and spaces, and ensuring stronger congressional support systems for veterans.
Kalai has also highlighted his leadership experience in international trade initiatives and advisory roles. He says those experiences have prepared him to advocate effectively for Texans in Washington.
With early voting underway and momentum building, Kalai’s campaign believes that high turnout in the coming days could secure a decisive Republican primary victory on March 3 without triggering a runoff, setting the stage for a strong path forward in the general election.
