Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi Highlights Unity Among Scholars of All Schools of Thought at Faisalabad Press Conference
Faisalabad: Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and Special Representative to the Prime Minister and Coordinator of the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Peace Committee, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, while addressing a joint press conference along with prominent scholars from all schools of thought regarding the Tralai Rawalpindi incident and recent acts of terrorism in Balochistan, stated that every conspiracy against Pakistan’s peace, unity and stability will be foiled and terrorist elements will not be allowed under any circumstances to damage the country’s religious and social harmony, he said that under the platform of the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Peace Committee, scholars of all sects offered joint prayers in Peshawar, Lahore and Islamabad as a practical demonstration of unity of the Ummah and national solidarity, which is clear evidence that all schools of thought in Pakistan are united and unanimous against terrorism, sectarianism and hate, Allama Tahir Ashrafi clearly announced that no individual or group violating the national code of conduct will be supported nor will they receive any religious or social backing, he emphasized that full implementation of the agreed national code of conduct is essential for maintaining peace and promoting mutual respect in the country, referring to the issued religious decree declaring the desecration of the sacred personalities of Ahl-e-Sunnat as forbidden, he stated that respect for the sanctities of all schools of thought is obligatory and mutual respect, tolerance and harmony are Pakistan’s true strength, he said terrorist elements are enemies of both Islam and Pakistan and have no affiliation with any religion or sect, describing the attackers in the Noshki incident as Fitna al-Khawarij, he demanded strictest action against them to eliminate those spreading unrest in the country, expressing deep sorrow over the martyrdom of innocent worshippers and children in Tralai Rawalpindi and Balochistan, he said these incidents have wounded the hearts of the entire nation, he prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and patience for their families and assured that the government will provide relief packages and full support to the affected families, the Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council stated that effective and indiscriminate action is also necessary against facilitators involved in acts of terrorism and that the law will take its course and no one will be considered above the law, he said state institutions are fully active in maintaining law and order and the entire nation stands with the Armed Forces of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies, he announced that messages of unity, tolerance and national security will be promoted in Friday sermons to raise public awareness and counter any incitement or misleading propaganda, Allama Tahir Ashrafi stated that after the recent incidents, expressions of condolence, blood donations and demonstrations of solidarity between Ahl-e-Sunnat and Ahl-e-Shia mark a historic development and prove that the people and scholars of Pakistan reject sectarianism and are determined to strengthen brotherhood, he said all schools of thought must move forward with mutual respect, patience and seriousness as hostile forces seek to create sectarian division to weaken Pakistan but the awareness of scholars and the public will defeat such conspiracies, during the press conference scholars of all schools of thought unanimously condemned terrorism and reaffirmed their commitment to continue a joint strategy for promoting peace, unity and Islamic brotherhood in the country and to strongly respond to any attempt to create instability, in conclusion Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that Pakistan’s future lies in peace, moderation and unity and that scholars, religious leaders and the public will continue their struggle against hatred, extremism and terrorism to ensure a safe, stable and peaceful Pakistan for future generations.
