FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, on Tuesday addressed a meeting of village headmen (Numberdars) of district Faisalabad at the Town Municipal Administration Hall, emphasizing their critical role in maintaining law and order and promoting social harmony.The meeting was attended by City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Operations Furqan Bilal and divisional Superintendents of Police.Speaking on the occasion, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera described the institution of Numberdars as a vital pillar of the social structure, stating that their credibility, integrity and public trust were fundamental to ensuring peace in society. He noted that village headmen served as an essential link between the police and the public and could play a decisive role in strengthening community policing.
The RPO Sohail Sukhera stressed that Numberdars must extend full cooperation to the police in ensuring social security, preventing crime and, in particular, eliminating the menace of narcotics from society. He said that village headmen carried significant responsibility for maintaining peace and vigilance in their respective areas.He further urged them to actively participate in the resolution of petty disputes and reconciliation of long-standing enmities so that minor conflicts do not escalate into serious law and order issues. Emphasising preventive measures, RPO Sukhera termed night-time vigilance as essential for curbing criminal activities.RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera concluded by stating that close coordination between the police and village headmen was the key to building a safe, peaceful and stable society. He expressed confidence that Numberdars would perform their duties with honesty and a strong sense of responsibility and that their collective efforts with the police would help strengthen the rule of law and maintain peace across district Faisalabad.
