A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, causing widespread damage, with buildings collapsing in Bangkok, Thailand. The tremors were also felt in parts of China. The quake hit at 12:50 PM local time, followed by a 6.8 magnitude aftershock. The epicenter was located 16 kilometers northwest of the city of Sagaing at a depth of 10 kilometers. There are concerns about casualties, and rescue operations are underway.
