The first case of monkeypox was reported at Peshawar Airport, with public health confirming the diagnosis in a person arriving from Dubai. The case was identified during screening at the airport. Additionally, water samples from Islamabad showed 41% bore water, 27% filtered, and 33% supply water were unsatisfactory. Health Adviser Ihtisham Ali confirmed that 10 monkeypox cases have been reported in the province, including 2 in 2023, 7 in 2024, and the first case of 2025. Following the report, a public health team arrived at Peshawar Airport, transferred the patient to the Police Services Hospital, and confirmed the diagnosis of monkeypox in the 35-year-old individual after lab testing.
