On December 9th, the first cross-border tourist group arrived at Khunjerab Pass, following its announcement to remain open year-round. The 11-member Pakistani group will explore Xinjiang, China, for a two-and-a-half-day tourism and business tour. Khunjerab Pass, which connects China and Pakistan, has seen increased traffic this year, with over 59,100 passengers crossing by December 9th. The group visited several attractions in Tashkurgan, China, and plans are underway to arrange tours to Pakistan through the pass in the future.
