According to sources, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) under the supervision of the IG Islamabad has summoned the suspects on December 24, 2024. The federal government formed the JIT under Section 30 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 to curb social media-related offenses.
The accused are alleged to have incited unrest in Pakistan through fake propaganda on social platforms. The JIT reportedly has substantial evidence against them.
The individuals served notices include Sabghatullah Warak, Muhammad Arshad, Atta-ur-Rehman, Azhar Mashwani, Aroosa Nadeem Shah, Muhammad Ali Malik, Shahzaib Warak, Musa Warak, Ikram Kathana, Taqweem Siddique, and Muhammad Nauman Afzal.
