Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people, stating that they are enduring organized genocide and brutality with courage. He described 2023 as the darkest year in Palestinian history, following the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. Over 43,000 innocent Palestinians, including men, women, and children, have been killed since October 7, 2023.

On International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Shahbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for a fair resolution of the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. He urged the international community to take decisive action to stop Israel’s crimes, particularly attacks on civilians, hospitals, schools, and infrastructure. Sharif called for accountability for Israel’s war crimes and violations of human rights and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a just solution in line with UN resolutions, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
