Syed Mazhar Ali, a celebrated actor from the golden era of Pakistan Television (PTV), passed away today in a private hospital in Karachi due to heart and lung disease. Known for his remarkable performances in dramas such as Afshan, Arusa, Shaheen, and Kaali Deemak, Mazhar Ali was an unforgettable figure in the world of Pakistani television.
A graduate of NED University in Karachi, Mazhar Ali pursued engineering but found his true passion in acting. His gentle nature and innocence on screen, along with his resemblance to Indian actor Farooq Shaikh, made him a household name.
Mazhar Ali moved to the U.S. during the peak of his career, a decision he later admitted was a mistake, but he remained active in various media projects abroad, including his involvement with Radio Music Marathons in Houston and Pakistan Chronicle.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. His legacy in Pakistani drama will live on in the hearts of his fans.
May he rest in eternal peace.
